{"id":575,"date":"2011-06-03T09:00:38","date_gmt":"2011-06-03T14:00:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.chrisgiles.org\/blog\/?p=575"},"modified":"2011-06-03T09:02:43","modified_gmt":"2011-06-03T14:02:43","slug":"discharge-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chrisgiles.org\/blog\/2011\/06\/03\/discharge-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Discharge\u00b2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some more unfortunate news, but Chris is being discharged from RIOSA next week.\u00a0 I was hoping he&#8217;d get into the second phase of this program, but <em>many<\/em> circumstances have again conspired against us.<\/p>\n<p>Not sure where we&#8217;re going next right now, but hopefully we&#8217;ll have that sorted out ASAP.<\/p>\n<p>A small bit of good news:\u00a0 After talking to the neurologist last week about the small seizures Chris continued to have, he decided to up the dosage of the anti-seizure medication to the full adult dose (Chris was still on a half dose that was initiated a few months back by the neurologist in Austin).\u00a0 Chris has been really alert this week in his therapies, and I haven&#8217;t seen any of the rather frequent <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Absence_seizure\">absence seizures<\/a> (small ~ 30 second episodes where he begins staring and his eye begins to roll up towards his eyebrow).\u00a0 Cool.<\/p>\n<p>Ahh, and my dad is still doing OK.\u00a0 He&#8217;s walking with a walker, but hopefully that will improve with time.\u00a0 RIOSA is discharging him on Monday (his insurance only provides two weeks of therapy).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some more unfortunate news, but Chris is being discharged from RIOSA next week.\u00a0 I was hoping he&#8217;d get into the second phase of this program, but many circumstances have again conspired against us.
